My Family’s Stuffing Recipe

Serves: 15 – 20
- 1 lb. pork sausage (mild)
- 3 large apples yield cord and chop 1/4″ squares
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 2 bags bread crumbs
- 3/4 cup of chicken broth
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 – 3 tsp of My Family’s Pork Seasoning (yes, the pork seasoning)
Cook sausage until brown, drain oil in measuring cup, set aside. Place sausage in large bowl and set aside.
Add oil to sausage dripping to make 1/4 cup of drippings, heat oil in large skillet to medium temp, cook apples, onions, and celery until celery is tender (about 10 minutes).
Add cooked celery, onions, and apples to cooked sausage and mix well.
Add eggs, bread crumbs, salt, My Family’s Pork Seasoning and 1/2 – 3/4 cup chicken broth until moistened. Mix stuffing.
Loosely fill turkey cavity and neck or bake separately in dish at 325° for 35 – 40 minutes.
